Last night was the first night since April 30 that I have not played the
game and that has alot to do with this annoying 'feature'. I even hex
edited my guys to give everyone repair master so I wouldnt have to pass
armor around during the fights, but it still sucks. This needs to be
patched. How about an auto repair feature?

Yes, absolutely. Repair is instantaneous anyway (however they do
it... carrying along a pocket forge, perhaps?) so they could just
include a button for "Character with highest repair skill tries to
repair everything that's broken". I'm so frustrated with this
"feature" that I gave Master Repair to all my characters (no
hexediting, I actually burned the skill points :-/).

I looked over the strategy guide at Best Buy today and noticed that
the Blue Dragons, Gold Dragons, and Thunder Lizards do indeed have
"break item" as their special attack. (Like I needed to consult the
guide to know that.)
Use the "day of" spells if you got 'em, use "hour of power," and use
the Kriegspire +30 level well. With all that I barely noticed when
something got busted. ;)

Very. I guess you didn't get zapped through walls constantly in
Gharik's Forge? THAT was annoying.

It's just an excuse to keep you weaker (you either waste points on
repair or you fight with broken items).

That would defeat the purpose of monsters even breaking your stuff
(that purpose is to annoy you, of course). :)

Yes! They also need "quick heal," where it casts healing spells for
you, ala the "fix" feature of the later Goldbox games. You'd just hit
"fix" and it'd cast your heal spells and rest for more when it needed
to, until everyone was healed up. Of course, you're still under the
constaints of normal resting/casting, where you're interrupted by
near-by monsters who find you. Not unbalancing, just a removal of
tedium.

I'm not sure who the "purists" would be, but we need to keep them away
from making more computer games...
All the pointless clicking in the inventory screen and unprogrammable
keys have really redefined my pain factor from compulsive computer
gaming.
I think they might want to rename the game:
"MM6: The Mandate of Hand Cramp"
I love the game, but sometimes the COMPLETELY UNNECESSARY micromanagement
really ticks me off.
Could be worse. You could, for instance, have your characters yelling "I'm
HUNGRY" every few minutes and have to rummage around in your pack for a banana
or something...

Yeah, I think they JUST missed that one. Must have been cut in beta
testing. :)
