The Ultima V remake Lazarus for the Dungeon Siege engine is now
released in Version 1.2 (supposed to be the final version).

Download:
<http://www.fileplanet.com/hosteddl.aspx?/hst/l/o/lordblac/u5_lazarus_setup_v1.20.exe>
Size: 521 MB

This is the PC version, a Mac version should be available in about a
week.

You may have to register a FilePlanet account to start the download.

You must uninstall previous Lazarus installations including your
savegames and manually deleting the Lazarus folder.

Enjoy!

Ouch, that much, again? I had believed, there would be another patch.

Ah, Information. A property, too valuable these days, to give it away,
just so, at no cost.

Nope, a full (hopefully final) release, as was previously announced.

There are now also a few mirrors and a torrent available:
<http://www.3ddownloads.com/RPG/Dungeon%20Siege/Mods/u5_lazarus_setup_v1.20.exe>
<http://www.filecloud.com/files/file.php?file_id=2631>
Torrent: <http://www.mininova.org/tor/268871>

There is already a first (user-made) patch that fixes the broken
tooltips on some items for the non-english versions of Dungeon Siege.
If you play with a non-english version of Dungeon Siege then either
delete one file out of your Dungeon Siege/Resources directory
(language.dsres or something like that) or copy the following file
into your Lazarus/resources directory:
<http://www.sbox.tugraz.at/home/h/hacki/lazarus/lazarus_tooltip_fix.dsres>

I think I'll wait until the FINAL final release. So, maybe 3 or 4 months,
if they still haven't updated it again, I can try it.

This is the final release, at least according to the guys at the
Laz forums. They have been very clear since 1.0 that they
were going to work on one big, comprehensive patch that
fixed all the big bugs, and then were letting it go forever. They
say this is it, 1.20 is the final version.

From the 1.2 readme:

This is the FINAL RELEASE from Team Lazarus. No further changes will be
made. However, players are welcome to make changes themselves. Development
work will also continue for Project Britannia
(http://www.projectbritannia.com) and Ultima 6: Archon
(http://www.u6archon.com). A special "Lazarus Modders Pack" will also be
available from our website shortly for those of you
who would like to make your own mods for the game.

Spyware infested POS subscription service. Why the hell can't these
people use P2P, like everybody else? Then we all share the burden of
making the damn thing available, and nobody lines the pockets of c***s.

Excuse my French, but I *really* hate FilePlanet and all their ilk.
Whenever I'm googling for info on a game I get thousands of shitty
links to sites like FP, LameSpy etc. which actually have no info I'm
looking for. They just seem to be able to fool search engines by
claiming to have pages about every game ever produced, and then you go
there and find "Your search returned no matches".

Wankers.

Thanks Andre! I've downloaded and just started playing. Unfortunately,
within a few minutes of playing the game it crashed to desktop on me. I went
inside Iolo's house and picked up the two travel ration bags, I picked one
up from my chars inventory and the other one disappeared. I noticed my food
ration went up so they where obviously removed from the inventory and added
to party rations. Problem was the bag of rations I picked up remained in my
inventory, I couldn't get rid of it, and in due course I clicked it on my
characters equipable items. After that the ration sack took on the
properties of my chainmail vest, or gloves etc. I tried dropping it a few
more times before it gave me an error that had a note of "This might take a
few minutes to compile" and then it went to desktop.

No biggy at all, just letting you know. I just started it up again and
didn't play around with the rations. Still playing and I have to say it's
still a fan-fuckingtastic remake! Thankyou!

Don't thank me, thank the Lazarus team (i'm not a member).
And for bugreports and (hopefully) workarounds or solutions go to the
1.2 tech support forum here:

The second torrent has more seeders, so you better choose the latter.
