It's not exactly that subtle. The entire thing is dominated by a big
picture of the moon in it's current phase.

No, but somehow it's easy to miss. I was pretty floored when I got
that quest. I waited until night and looked up in the sky and ... NO
MOON?!? Needless to say, I was just a little agitated ... until I
discovered that the phase is displayed on the time page. I had to
apologize for all the nasty things I had thought about the designers
of the game prior to finding this. :)

Yes, the T key works. Note that on Enroth the full moon lasts several days, so
don't panic about hanging out right on the doorstep of the Temple of the Moon
til then. It would be useful to locate it in advance, though, if you haven't
already.
You just came up with a great suggestion for the NWC team. Would it be
possible for MM7 to have a moon (and the sun with lens-flare effects)
outside? Oh, and since it is not all that hard to pass several game
years, a solar/lunar eclipse would be nice. Imagine fighting outside in
the afternoon when all of a sudden a solar eclipse passes by. :)

Click on the right-most Calendar book. But you needn't bother knowing when the
full moon is anyway. Minor spoiler below tells why:
It doesn't matter what phase of the moon it is, you can get that Arch Druid
promotion right after midnight on any night. I got my promotion on the 2nd of
the month, which was a quarter moon.
chris
I once got my promotion even though the calendar says three-quarter moon.
However, it could be that you just need to be plus or minus a few days from
a full moon. Anyone cares to try this when the calendar says half-moon?

Mine was only one quarter moon, very close to a new moon. That's almost as far
as you can get from a full moon.
chris
Hmm, so would you be able to use Sunray, Moon Ray, or both? :)

I noticed a cool effect last last night: it was dusk and I was standing
under a house. All of a sudden, it was light. Then I looked around
and everywhere else had gone dark. I may be imagining it, but it was
like darkness fell but the house switched its lights on!

Did you have a light spell running by any chance? I've noticed that
the light spell does nothing if it is dusk/dawn, but as soon as night
hits, the spell lights up the area around you. Even though the spell
description says it doesn't work outdoors, it definitely helps me see,
though the light radius is pretty small.
I had noticed the same thing about the light spell--it tends to make thing
in the general area lighter at night. Since I hadn't seen any other
messages saying that the light spell works this way, I figured I must be
seeing things. It's good to know that someone else noticed that the light
spell appears to work at least a little outside.

I see this effect even with no light spell. As soon as the sky goes
black, my immediate area is illuminated if I'm outdoors. This has
happened since my newborn characters first crawled into NS, so it's
not due to my residual magic.
