Ultima 7: Can you kill Batlin?

Is it possible to kill Batlin in U7?
I thought that it would be possible with the Black Sword, since it is
possible to kill Lord British. I didn't get a chance to try because I got
the add-on late in the game, after Batlin had already disappeared.

I have a feeling that he would just disappear, but... you never know!!

It would screw up the plot!!

Oh, I DO know. He would not disappear, you can see him lying there with
blood and all, nothing inside him. Oh, maybe a fellowship staff, I think.
He can be killed easily : glass sword, blue potion+death bolt, etc, etc.
BTW, anybody feels it's strange ( and beneficial for us ) that we can
tell anyone to drink our potion ? ( Hey, what are the blue and green
potions for, if we can't do that ? )

Nope, it wouldn't. I killed him and carried him around ( I think I told
Dupre to hold him ). Then when I was supposed to meet him again, there he
was, standing proudly and as alive as can be, didn't care for the fact
that Dupre was carrying a dead body that looked just like him. Well, I put
the dead body in the ground and ressurected him. Voila : two Batlins.

This is kind of screwing up the plot, but I still could finish the game
with nothing much different. Well, there's the ressurected Batlin walking
around but he did nothing, so the Avatar left him there, I suppose. :)

I just want to point out : sometimes I just love the bugs in the game. :)

SPOILERS AHEAD!!!!

It is possible to kill Batlin. You can kill him using the death
bolt spell. However, he will still be at the Black Gate at the end of
the game. It is nice to fry his ass though! :)

Which part are you talking about, part 1 or part 2?
I killed Batlin in part 1, when I entered the room with the black gate.
I used a glass sword, then I killed Hook, while my crew, killed everybody
else. It didn't affect the ending.

You can't REALLY kill Batlin. He is protected by the Guardian after all,
and is a major player in Serpent Isle. Besides, the Avatar need not fight
save in self-defense.
