I go to visit Arrile the first Innkeeper you meet and I'm searching high and
low for a "rent room" type button. It doesn't exist.

Am I a moron or what? I cannot for the life of me figure out how to get a
room so I can rest. Can someone talk to me like the mental 5 year old that
I am and tell me how I can rest my character. :-)

cheers,

hh

Cheapest way is to simply run out of town and hit the T key to rest.

Head out to the woods and rest out there.

In the control config, you'll see the button is 'T' by default. Only in
beds near town though! In town, it's a handy 'wait' feature.

Someone posted earlier that there is a bedroll in the basement that you can
use. My copy doesn't get here until tomorrow *cry* so I can't confirm that.

Very small spoiler

Go to the excise and census offices (where you were originally processed).
Go down stairs and you will find a bedroll. I haven't actually used it, but
the game gives you the option to rest, so I think that would be the first
good place you can rest.

There isn't a rent room button, but there is a barter option with
innkeepers, they'll take your money and tell you where your room is.

Also, whenever you see a bed you can spacebar it and it gives you the
option to sleep.

Actually, you need to look for the dialogue option 'beds' when talking to a
tavern keeper. Then you can legally go to sleep in a tavern. Otherwise
you'll be picking locks or going in a room to sleep illegally. After you've
spent the coin the room will be unlocked and you can do as Carole suggests.

If you really need shuteye and can't figure this out, or for some reason
there's no 'beds' dialogue, just wander out of town and hit the 't' key to
camp in the wilderness.

Good luck!
