I believe it has to say 'large' before the name. And he's right, it's
not very common at all. Mines lucky he got a large studded leather.

It's also a pain trying to get him (or Virgil) to use the weapon I
want them to. I gave him a bone axe which does +10 to hit undead and
he keeps swapping it for an inferior weapon. I keep having to take
everything off him that I don't want him to use, but I want him to
carry it because of encumbrance.

Still no clothes...... guess I'll have to try killing a half - Orge in
Tarant's Boil and taking its armor. Funny how I got him with a helmut,
bootss, shield, and weapon but he's in boxers! Quite comical in battle.

It will say "large" in the name. Like "Large Leather Armor," "Large Guard
Leather," "Large Featherweight Chainmail..."
Chukka is an absolute terror in Large Elite Plate.
I can't recall ever seeing any large armor for sale that was higher
quality than studded leather. No plate or anything. You can make it
through tech. though... I outfitted Sogg with home-made machined
plate.
Also, you can find npcs with better armor, rarely. Later in the game,
you'll find a gambler guy who has two ogre bodyguards and they both
have large plate that you can swipe. There are probably other
examples.
So you can steal their armour without them noticing? Hmm. Well, I suppose
ogres aren't very intelligent, it might take them a while to realise that
they're catching a cold...

Nothing is safe from the power of the Fate Point! Or you could just,
ah, murder them. That'd work too.
Kill the thieves in the first village - the ogres are both wearing
leather armour.
