About Energy drakes: why don`t you do Armageddons? Two days of
Armageddons, mana regeneration, no sleeping, just waiting - and all of
Drakes are dead.
Pedestal is located in NW area, Bear statue goes there.

DOH!
In my aversion to using Armageddon where peasants will get slaughtered
(even though I already have Light Master), I forgot completely about
using it in Kriegspire where there are no peasants. And to think I
took out all those minotaurs and rock things the hard way. I figured
I was going to have to wait until I completed a few more quests,
especially the Arch Druid one. (The temple is all clear and now I'm
just waiting for a full moon. I missed the Greater Druid promotion in
June by 2 days :( so my 2 druids have been lagging behind in power a
bit.)
Thanks.
If you mean the obelisk, then yes I have found that. And that would
mean the pedestal is right around all those drakes, which is I guess
where I figured it was but I thought I would see it from above since I
wasn't ready to deal with the drakes at that time. But, I have a plan
for them now. :) I'm in no hurry to complete that quest since I
haven't even been into Dragonsand or Pleasant Valley yet, but I just
want to reduce some inventory clutter. :)
BTW, I'm assuming the fact that the Mire of the Damned pedestal took
the wrong statuette won't hurt my completing of the quest at all,
right?
Try to the north of the energy drakes. I missed it from the air, but
found it easily running on the ground.

Finally found it but I had to do it by flying slowly just above ground
level. Any higher and I couldn't see it.
As for those drakes, WOW! No wonder I initially got my butt kicked; I
didn't realize how many of them there were. I finally got rid of them
all and I netted over 250,000 gold. I could've gotten more but I made
a mistake of looting all the corpses first and I couldn't carry all
the hardware they gave me, so I left a bunch of it on the ground.
When I came back to pick it up, it was gone. I also went up about 9
levels after that. Not a bad few days work. :)
Yeah, when my party was level 30-40, I thought Armageddon
might thin out the rank of creatures in Kriegspire outdoor.
Nope, the damned spell did nothing to the Minotaurs. It
worked on the drakes though. Still, it bugs me a lot,
here we have a supposedly super-charged spell. The only
problem besides costing an arm and a leg to cast, can only
be cast 3 times a day (master), and the spell hurts you
along with everybody else, is that it doesn't work
most of the time. So, if you're thinking about
shooting yourself in the foot, go ahead armageddon away.
Otherwise, stick with elemental magic or either Dragon
breath or Shrapmetal.

Same happened to me in Paradise Valley. The Titans were
undamaged but the hydras died. Very annoying. I also didn't
see much difference in the resistances against Shrapmetal
and elemental magic. Both regularly fail against higher
level creatures.
