Google turned up sites like piratebay, but I will probably acquire
keyloggers and viruses as well from sites like that.

What you download from the official site is a much smaller
installation program that does its own download managing. You don't
need to rely on third-party programs at all, and the initial install
is only 800k or so, and I think you can rely on Firefox for that. See

The Download Manager is a good idea, and has some
nice features and ideas (you can do character creation
while waiting for the rest of the download), but some
players really hate it due to problems, slow speeds, etc.

Yes, its the EU version I need. I managed to find a client download
thread on the Codemasters forum. They don't even host their own
download site, but rely on sites like gamershell. I found one torrent
in the thread, but there were one seed and no peers and I was
downloading with ~1 kb/s so I gave up. I am downloading from
gamershell right now with about 100 kb/s so I will first get the
chance to try the game this coming weekend. I installed "Free Download
Manager" and I hope it can resume in case something goes wrong.
