Good assumption. Worry about the door later.

The only hint you need to finish the game is to read all the logs of the
dead people you find on the levels; they contain information that should
point you in the right direction.
Also, you might want to activate your STATUS hardware. In one of the screens
it tells you what the SHODAN is doing. Obviously, you want to prevent
SHODAN from completing that task.
