BG - Help! Can't Get Into Duchal Palace

Hey all,

I can't seem to get into the Duchal Palace in Baldur's Gate. The gates down,
but the computer still allows me to access the "enter door" icon when I put the
mouse on the gate (e.g. the icon with the open door). When I click on it, my
entire party walks towards the gate, but the computer still flashes me the
message "You must gather your party before venturing forth."

Is this a bug? Or am I missing something? I've basically done all the quests
in Baldur's Gate except for the this one (after this, I'll be heading back to
Duke Eltan in order to continue on to Chapter 6). If I'm supposed to somehow
get the gate open before entering the palace, then a subtle hint would be
appreciated. If this is a bug, then I guess I'm screwed?
