Fallout 2: Where do I find a wrench=

I am in Vault City trying to find a wrench for Val, so that i later can get
the super toolkit from her. Last time i was here (i restarted after
patching) i already had a wrench to give her, dunno where i found it.
I have looked in a walkthrough about this, and it says that i should give
the nixon doll to a boy to get the wrench. The problem is that i can't find
no damn boy, or anyone else, to give it to. So my question is, where is that
boy, or where can i find a wrench elsewhere?

There's a wrench in Redding, in one of the Mines' "worker"-buildings. Can't
remember which one of the two, but it's there.

Also, in New Reno, in the Chop Shop, there are two or three of the wrenches,
but since I didn't find that until after I had the car, I don't know if you
can get there now.

There are also wrenches to be purchased from random merchants. Mostly
traveling from VC to Broken Hills. There's a Wrench inside the VC Vault
behind a locked door on level 2 (high lockpick skill required and must become
