Also, there doesn't seem to be a map of Silver Cove on the web sites
I've checked, Does anybody have one (with buildings marked)?
There were several buildings that the doors didn't work on. I hope I
don't somehow have a bug with the building the Master Merchant guy is
supposed to be in!
Thanks in advance....
Nancy
P.S. If anybody cares: Archer, Cleric, Druid, Sorcerer, level 26-27.
We just got Town Portal/Lloyd's Beacon tonight, and are planning to do
some exploring, but wanted Master Merchant first (need money!).
Well, I did do a house-to-house, and couldn't find it. That's why I asked.

Uh oh. South of the Dragon tower? As in right across the street from
the Earth guild? A little wast of the Light Guild?
Gee, there are two buildings there with non-functional doors (I click
on the doors and it says "Nothing There"). One is a largish stone
building, one is a small wooden building. I guess it's in one of
those? I did walk around them looking for other doors in those
buildings. Couldn't find any.
Now what? Reinstall the game? This doesn't seem like a corrupted
save game type bug?
Help!
(I'm cc'ing this to George Ruof, in case he has a suggestion...)

I said "Hi. You're not a Master Merchant!" and shut the door in her

Thanks for the help....

Silver cove isn't that big; you should just be able to find it with a
door-to-door approach (as opposed to Free Haven... yecch...). I think (but
I don't recall) that it's in a junky-looking building, but I don't remember
exactly. There can't be more than 6 or 7 houses that fit the description
"south" though.

The two doors that doesn't work are south but not the southernmost
road. When you come from the docks, you walk right at the intersection
past a gypsy and a horsemen house, follow the road as it bends left
and pass by the guild of the self, Expert meditation, a locksmith and
a porter. The Mercharnt Master is the last house on the right before
you walk out of the main town and towards the castle
Are the people for hire in the houses random, or can it really be true
that Silvercove has three chimneysweepers? :-)

Hi,
The Master Merchant guy lives in the southmost house of Silver Cove.
It is two blocks south of light guild, and 2 block east of self guild.
Btw, about the non-functional doors. I find 1 or 2 in all big towns.
I think it is the design of the game, not bug.
Hope this help!

Try the buildings at the south-east of Silver Cove. I believe it is the
south-easternmost but can't verify it right now.

Two suggestions.
1) In Freehaven there is a "merchant" in one of the buildings, who
will join you. He takes 2%, which is nothing for what you get back.
2) The "master" merchant skill guy is in the bottom row of buildings
in Silver Cove.

Check out my web site, it has a fully labeled map. I also have all
the skills (basic, expert and master) labeled with the map numbers (as
of tomorrow that is).

Thanks a lot for everybody's help on this. I have no idea how I
missed it the dozen times (well, maybe 3 ;-) that I searched that
street, but I finally found the Master Merchant, hidden in plain sight,
just about dead center "south" in Silver Cove.

Maybe because all the druids in the area make the chimneys very sooty?
;-)
BTW, I just did the "Monolith" quest tonight. That was a fun little
dungeon. Perhaps a bit *too* straightforward, but that's nice for a
change.
Anyway, thanks everybody!

ok, go to the southmost paved road that runs through the town, then go
all the way east til the road ends. he's in the last house south of the
road. it's a dark-brown house, big, with the door facing north.
(you CANT miss it) hope that helps.
