Hi,

Here are two great monitors utilizing the same DiamondTron 22" tube
but not knowing all the subtleties I'm looking for input on their
finer differences. The iiyama supports slightly higher refresh rates
but nothing that I think would make a major qualitative difference. On
the other hand the Mitsubishi has the NaViSet software that allows you
to adjust screen settings using your mouse or keyboard.

Can anybody comment on why they might choose one above the other?

Thanks for the help ...

I've just bought the Iiyama Pro514. Many of the essential features appear to
be exactly the same, (size, dot-pitch, dot-clock, horizontal frequency, dual
input, sRGB). The Iiyama has a higher specified vertical frequency, but
horizontal is the main one that matters. The Iiyama has speakers (which are
poor quality) and a USB hub, if you care for that sort of thing. The
controls on the Iiyama are a little annoying, so NaViSet might have been
useful. I've decided to buy a copy of Colorific to create a customised ICC
profile, but you don't really need it if you set the monitor to sRGB and use
the downloadable windows driver (and use Adobe Gamma if you have Photoshop).

In the end I chose on price and availability at a good local reseller.

Needless to say, it's a lovely display, and should last forever.

Jeff.
