I'm playing the Windows based Castle of the Winds (very much a Rogue
type of game with a good GUI). I'm on the 11 th floor of the
second maze consistently being killed by the giant Hrunger (sp?)
I would really like to know how close this is to the end of the game.
If I kill the giant is the game over, or do I go to a new maze (without
registering)?

You have to kill him, then (and it has been a while, so forgive me if
my details aren't EXACTLY correct) you have to go back to the town. You
then get "sent" to the next game. Of course, you have to register to get
it. And, I might add, the second game is well worth it. 20+ levels
and one heck of a major fight at the end. Lots of fun. Kudos to the
authors. Hope they come out with another one.

I just finished it, and yes, it's the end of the game (just search his body and
use the interesting item you find...). It tells you to save it and then reload
when you get the new version. As for how to beat him, just keep tossing
lightning bolts at him, every turn unless you're really hurt, then drinks some
healing potions.

If you kill him, IT IS the end of the game!
Remember to save your game RIGHT before you kill him in case you want to use
that character to explore after you beat dude.....
To continue on, you need toi get the reghistered version,..(I NEVER DID)
but it is relatively cheap(LIKE $20)

I thought awhile back someone reported that you had to ACTIVATE the
amulet you get back from the bad guy. Then when you play the next
scenario you can transfer your character over.

You have to kill the giant just to get the Amulet. After you kill him, just
cast Rune of Return to recupe yourself in the town before running it again.
Make sure not to sell all your gold at the bank, either, it will be useless in
the next town...
