I've got the 1.07 patch and the Logitech 3.25 Wingman software version.
F4 is supposed to support mulitple hat switches according to the readme.
However, on the second and third hat switches of the Interceptor when
you press up or down on either hat the controller setup display shows
they're key values, e.g. hat 2 up is mapped to key 2 which is 2D
cockpit. If I change that hat position to another value then key 2 on
the keyboard looses 2d cockpit. The left and right keys are not keys,
they're seen as POV functions. On the hat graphic when you press the
up/down hat position the graphic point doesn't light up like the left
right points.

Also, the second hat postions between up/down and left/right, the 2, 4,
7 and 10 o'clock positions are set for a combination key of arrow
up/right etc. How do I get rid of these settings. I'm trying to program
the second hat to radar cursor movement.

Very frustrating. Why didn't the designers just let the program read the
Logitech settings. I tried creating a F4 set in the Logitech programming
utility but F4 didn't recognize it.

What am I doing wrong or is this just a bug I'm encountering.

Thanks for any replies.

Just use WingMan Profiler to program the joystick and use it to launch the
F4. It'll work. You have to keep the Profiler running in order to use those
programmed buttons. There are already a F4 template in WingMan software
package. You'll need to add your own radar cursor movement commands though.

DirectX 6.1 and 6.1a (also called 6.2) allowed me to use all my hats in F4.

First install it, then if you want, contact me and I'll mail you my Falcon4
Interceptor File.

Thanks for the reply. I went to the F4 message boards at their website
and found other people with similar problems. I did try creating a
Logitech profile and lauching the game from it but F4 still didn't
recognize it. I'll try it again tonight.

I'm currently running DX 6 and worried about upgrading to 6.1 or higher
because the last time I tried it I lost all my sound on my PC. Calling
Dell support they had me reinstall the Turtle Beach Montego drivers but
it didn't help. I had to reinstal the whole Dell image ( Win 98 and all
the included software programs) to solve the problem.

If none of the suggestions work I will contact Dell to see what Montego
drivers on their site work with DX 6.1.

I had the same problem. I then erased the Logitech Falcon 4 profile and
created my own including button presses. For some reason it worked after
that. Go figure
