Dear Sir,

I like the game very much, but I am disappointed that I can't
manage the game with only a keyboard. I found that many
optional adjustments on input device for flying F15, I have
never seen before, good job! However, why the keyboard
control is ignored pitifully? I can't use the direction keys to
fly my F15 plane, even I replaced the keys mapping from
joystick to keyboard. Oh my god, I can't enjoy my lovely
game! Please help.... can there is a patch file to correct the
weakness of the game? :~~(

muttered:

It's not meant to fly with the keyboard. The minimum specifications
call for a joystick; it's not an option.

i think keyboard control IS AN OPTION but you have to enable the keys with
the key mapper!!

This is not a weakness, it's a goddman requirment. Get yourself at least
a cheapo 15$ joystick.

Would you drive a car without a steering wheel attached?

I joystick is a bit big to fit in a suitcase so I can carry it on my travels
next week. Plus, I'd have to buy a PC Card so it would work in the first
place. It would be much nicer if it supported operation without a
joystick... it couldn't have been that hard to add.

I second his request for keyboard flight control. Besides my desktop at home,
I do have a power laptop; being able to play sims on both extends their value
to me as I travel a great deal. That's one of the reasons that DID ADF is
always on my hard drive--it is still enjoyable to me without a joystick
(especially the excellent AWACS mode). I too wish to buy F-15, but will not
as long as there is at least no option presented for keyboard flight control.
I noticed everyone in this group was quick to jump on Kelvin with snide
comments about how cheap joysticks are; can any of you actually help with the
problem? Andy??

Except the fact that I've got a 266MMX/64MB Laptop that runs at least ADF
very nicely, but no gameport.

And since I spend 2x3 hours on the train once or twice a week, the ability
to fly on the train is very nice.

There are 2 gamecards for laptops that I know of, both very expensive and
with flunky function. And there's always the problem of fitting any joystick
in
the laptop case.

Yes you can play F15 with just a keyboard. I play Tennis with just a
keyboard, and although they keep breaking, if you use a foam ball,
there's no problems.

I am not kidding. I use my COMPUTER to play the game,
keyboard is a primary input device for all PC users.
Joystick is an optional choice! Most of sim flights support
fly without joystick but F15 can't support. I think support
a keyboard control is a very esay task for the game developers.
However, keyboard is ignored in F15 finally.

If I want a real car, I requires a steering wheel of course.
But if I play a sim car, a steering wheel is an optional item.

I have the EXP GameTraveler and have zero problems with it. It comes
with a game pad that can also be used as a joy stick (it has a small
"stick" you screw into the four way controller). I haven't used the game
pad, but my Microsoft 3D Pro works great. It's $60 - not cheap, but
laptops never were the most cost effective way of computing. ...Joakim
