Anyone else have problems with this joystick "stop working" during falcon 4

I find my TM rudder pedals don't work the first time I start F4. I have
to exit F4, then open the game controllers control panel, go the the
properties and then close it. Then F4 sees the rudders. I really don't
like the way MP designed the game controller setup, at least compared to
EAW or Hornet Korea (Mac version).

I haven't had any "stop working" problems.
