Hi,

I was just wondering how many real-life pilots, especially jet fighter
types :) are actually taking this group? Whether you are still flying
or retired whatever? If you are how would you say the likes of F22 ADF
compare to the real thing? :)

Cheers.

There is only one USAF pilot, that I know of, who has flown the F-22 (Paul
Metz). The F-22 won't be in active service for about 6-8 years or so, so
you'll have to wait until then to ask :)

The F22 isn't in service and only one AF pilot has flown it. The total
number of pilots who have flown it would number on one hand.

"Allies and Adversaries" book from World Air Power Journal that was packaged
with F22 ADF from DID on page 21 shows picture of "F22 Chief Test Pilot,
A.Paul Metz"

Not to turn this into a pissin' match, but according to "Lockheed
Skunk Works" by Steve Pace ((c) 1992 Motorbooks Int'l), the first USAF
pilot of the F-22 was Maj. Mark Shackelford, on Dec. 10, 1990. Of
course, this was a non-production model -- Lockheed prototype #1, in
fact.

Of course! How could we forget? We need some kind of
memorial in this newsgroup. Something like Hinds day.
We would use that day to reminisce the Hinds' days.

We have to make sure people know about that and never
forget it, and perhaps we'll save some people some
money.

PS Yatsu:

It was a joke. Paul Hinds is the infamous creator
of TAS, a promised flight sim that never materialized.
He claimed that he was a USAF pilot that flew F-16s
in the Gulf war, shot down a couple iraquis, and
was shot down himself once. He also said that he
owned his own P-51, having three PHDs, etc. Real
pilots debunked his claims ... or so it seems.
:-)

If you want more info, search deja news. It was an
ugly and weird situation.

OH No your wrong. It was really Paul hinds dressed as Paul Metz. See he fooled
almost everyone...

But I saw Robey and Schlong in the background of the static F22 picture and
they caught him red-handed... =)
