Hello. I'm glad that .94 has made so many improvements. Realistic
propeller sound, clouds, improved color and shadows!

But also, there is a very big problem which is the gear cannot reduce your
speed and there is no external view! Oh, my! How can I dive with this???

Also, I think the clouds can go...

I've lost 5-7 fps in .94..

I'm sorry, but the F4 does not seem slow to me. In fact last night I believe
I climbed and reached 300knts *MUCH* quicker than before. Dives went *WAY*
over 450knts very quickly. So while I am not sure what you mean by "The F4
while better still seems slow...", it seemed as fast if not faster than before.
Acceleration seemed dramaticly improved too. I haven't really checked "energy
bleed" yet. But my impression was that EB was much improved.

Maybe you are too used to AOE or AOTP? :-)

I personaly noticed no control changes that were joystick/gameport related.

Did you re-calibrate? I didn't need to, but you never know.

Ouch! <Groans and falls out of chair, mortally wounded>

As a matter of fact I had recalibrated. No help. I then tried some of
the different comport settings. WOW! what a difference. I no longer
feel like I am flying thru motor oil.

As for AOE or any others, SWOTL is about the only WWII flight Sim I
Still have, and I have not played THAT in 2 years or so.

I fly Warbirds now for the company of other like minded pilots. It is
too much fun talking to each other. While flying is a blast, flying
and socializing is even more fun.

THanks fro the suggestions on the calibration.

Take care,

Whoa, Now we are gonna nned dive brakes when that happens.

Boomer,

Whith regard to the 38, it definatly feels different. I guess you
pulled some teeth. However ALL of the AC have a sluggishness to them i
never noticed b4. The F4 while better still seems slow, and the P-51 I

am having trouble rolling let alone turning. I have played with all of
them for quite some tie last night and I am having a hard time
understanding how these can be correct.

Now, I am no Warbird Pilot, so I do not understand how they feel at

all, but all of them seem to have gone thru "control castration". Even
the zero now seems to hamdle like a lead weight.

I am wondering if this could be my stick settings? Did you gentlemen

make any changes in the Joystick routines?? This could account for my
problems. What are the recommennded stick settigns for a P-90 machine?

I would just like to fly aicraft not lead weights.

Thanks for your help,

Gryf,
I had same thing occur once before. Try recalibrating your stick and
see if that helps. Had a P38 that turned like P39 :)

As far as control settings, personally I would recomment NOT scaling
your stick in any way. But that is just my personal pref.

The birds are being tweaked for sure. Pyro has been working on em
constantly. I don't know specifically what has been 'upped' and what
has been 'trimmed'

As an artist (and therefore somewhat knowledgable about visual
representation), what I DO know is our current terrain and the colors
used do give a perception of 'sluggishness'. There is somewhat of a
monotony of color, and a flat, featureless quality to the terrain that
tends to 'slow' things down, e.g. there isn't much to reinforce the
sense of movement.. (no triangular polys on the ground like in .91,
etc.) Someone said it felt like the planes were 'floating'. However,
go to the race track (NW of 8) and/or slalom thru the palm trees close
to ground.. Now tell me they're sluggish ;)

Hoefully, it won't be long before we'll get our beloved countoured
terrain back. We've got some major horsepower working on it. Then, I
think you'll see that (perception of) movement again ;)

Well, I'm a WB/CK fanatic myself. I spend far too much time on-line. But you
know... I draw the line at claiming I'm "socializing" when playing WB. <G>

Cool games like WarBirds, internet, etc. are taking a big cut out of what
should be my real "social" life. Oh, well... at least I'm having fun.

No that just you Crash. All your planes turn like a P39. Its not your
joystick at all.
