Borrow a copy of the James Michener novel "Space" and read the chapter
"Korea".

It should only take an hour or so, but it gives an incredible insight into
the Korean air war. It tracks the story of two men who later went on to
become astronauts, one a naval flyer in an F4U Corsair doing night bomb runs,
particularly on trains, and the other guy was a photo recon pilot in a
Banshee. Both of them dodging migs etc. Fantastic stuff.

If you can find a copy, "The Hunters" staring Robert Mitchum, Robert Wagner
and Richard Eagn will show you some great areal footage of F-86's in combat.
One of my all time favorites.

Cool dogfights in "The Hunters". Pity Mitchum had to bail out, though.

The novel it was very loosely based on by James Salter has been re-published.
James Horowitz was still in the Air Force when he began writing and used a pen
name. He had flown in Korea, and others have testified as to the truth of his
fiction--and know (and mostly loath) the real Ed Pell.

Where can I find a copy the "The Hunters". I can remember watching that
movie when I was a kid. So far AMC, TCM have not played it.
