I'm not sure exactly what you're referring to here, but I'll take a stab at
it. I'll assume that you're having trouble getting into the town of
Northwarden to talk to the Baron. The only thing standing in your way is
three fairly tough combats -- multiple spellcasters, goblins w/ enchanted
blades, etc. To get through you'll need to give your own spellcaster a good
workout, especially the Evil Seek spell, and you'll need to enchant your own
armor and blades. After that it's a free-for-all.

Big L likes his armor in top condition. He will only accept armor that is
in a very good state of repair. I hope you've got a couple of hammers and a
player skilled in armor repair.

Try the well in Lyton.

Spoilers ahead.
Do you mean Raglam? You will need to bribe the goblins north of
Northwarden; you can't fight through them. You'll have enough
money if you sell the diamonds you got from Tamney. Beyond that,
you have to fight your way through the trolls & giants. When
you get close, fix the catapult and fire it, then check out
the village again.

It has to be high quality armor (70+ I think). Beware, when you have
adequate armor, Lyton takes whatever Kingdom armor he finds going left
to right in your party, whether it's equipped or not. So if your
first couple of characters have 99% Kingdom armor that you want to
keep, you'll have to rearrange things.

You have to do things in the right order. First dig up the grave and
discover the missing hand. Then look in Max Feeber's house and get
the Burial Shroud. Talk to Max. Then knock on the doors in Lyton
and you'll find the hand. To learn how it got from Max's to Lyton,
talk to people in the bar at Malac's Cross and follow their clues,
but this is not necessary to get the hand.

He said he needs armor in _good_ condition. He won't take your garbage
40% armor! It better be better than 75-80%. Mine was better than 85%.

Go to Lyton and investigate. Ask at the local Inn. Talk to everyone in
Nia's village. Follow the leads. You may have to go on a trip to
Darkmoor...
Sometimes you can find interesting stuff under graves. Sometimes, they
can be dangerous...

Your 6 sets have to be repaired (not 100%, but the high 80's wouldn't
hurt).
The hand is in the last house on the right in LYTON.
