You're told point-blank what the fuel mix is. When you play around with
the settings, you find the "names" of various fuel mixes...and if you
look at the various elements, you'd probably get around to noticing that
all those "names" are really just the official chemical symbols for the
chemical elements that make up that mixture. The answer was "Lasagne,"
right? La is the symbol for Lanthanum. S is the symbol for Sulfur. Ag is
the symbol for Silver. And Ne is the symbol for Neon. La, S, Ag, Ne.
You're already given the Lasagne, so it only remains to identify the
correct elements that make up the word. All the words on the list with
Lasagne (Snowy, etc.) are words that can be made from the Symbols.
In fact, the game lists all the abbreviations in the Popular Janitronics
magazine by printing the periodic table (this might even be in the
ship's computers, I forget).

When you enter the spaceship a codeword are displayed. I my case Lasagne
(AFIK). Split it into La-S-Ag-Ne. Read the periodic system found in the wall
computer situated everywhere. It will tell you which components correspond
to the abbreviations (Ne=Neon). This is yuor fuel mix.
