MYST: getting past the furnace
Paul Paire
having problems getting past the furnace (boiler?) in the little shack in
the woods. I've been able to get the boiler going (by getting the match)
but no dice. The map in the library seems to point to a tree in a circle...
which I can see, but can't get to. How do you get to it? Thanks.

The boiler causes the big tree to raise or lower...the trick is to raise it up to the top then turn off the gas and go outside and catch the elevator on the way down...the Chanelwood book is below.

light the pilot light, turn the wheel on all the way (green) and wait
until the pounding noise stops. turn wheel off (red) and go outside. at
the door, turn left and go behind the cottage. you will see a platform
and a large tree lowering. there is an elevator in the tree. climb
aboard and take a ride to the next book.
