It's also gorgeous, beautifully scored, inventive, fun and addictive - in
short, the reason why I play video games. Thank you Kyle and Ron from the
bottom of my heart, you guys are beyond genius.
There's a PC demo version out, get it and see for yourself.
That was a fine, fine game. I would have thought it was done by a much
larger group. It goes to show you what some hard work and good people can
do. Thanks for the heads up on it. It's absolutely outstanding, and I
usually hate puzzle games.
Extra credit for one of the best game scores I've ever heard.
Sequel, please!
Seconded - still working my way through, but an incredibly fun game.
One for the engineer/architect in all of us :)
Is it just me, or are there a lot of sexual innuendos in this game?
The title itself, and one of the early levels talks about a character
named "Fisty" and tadpoles that shoot out of the mouth.
I'm still playing the demo, but man this is a huge time sink! I had
problems with one of the levels and when I finally got the level done it
told me I had played for 75 min.! Seemed to me that only about 20 min.
had gone by. This is really a fun and interesting game. It's also nice
to have such a large demo to play around with. JLC

World of Goo is a work of art disguised as a game with a bit of physics
thrown in for good measure. FC, on the other hand, is all about the physics
pure and simple - but it's truly astounding what it manages to accomplish in
that regard. What it lacks in style and panache it more than makes up in
sheer depth of play. It's also a barrel of fun but I must warn you - once

Very fun game. :) Hard too.

Ever play The Incredible Machine games?
Yes and they were fun(ny). Is Goo similar?
World of Goo = The Incredible Machine + goo.
Why has nobody mentioned the similarity to Lemmings so far? I played right
through the demo, and Lemmings was far and away the biggest similarity for
me. Both were fun, addictive, infuriating and ultimately pointless.
CC
Yep, I was thinking of Lemmings.

I remember playing "Oh no more Lemmings" (think it was that one) but
eventually it became too hard to continue and became too annoying and
frustrating for me, so I gave up. Do a lot of people actually finish those
Lemmings games?
Was the first Lemmings game the easiest to complete than future ones?
Mary
I remember that one too. Wasn't it a freebee bundled with another
lemmings game?
I remember seeing the Christmas Lemmings but never bought it.
The lemmings game I played was fun until it started to drive me crazy
because I could get past the places I was supposed to and all the lemmings
disappeared somewhere. I thought it was fine at first when its easy, but it
gets harder as the game goes on. I guess none of these games have been in
stores for a long time.
Mary
Did anybody here ever finish any of the Lemmings games?
Mary
Did anybody here ever finish any of the Lemmings games?
Mary
Of course. I finished ...
Lemmings (120 levels, saved 7026)
Xmas Lemmings 1992 (8 levels)
Save The Lemmings (8 levels)
Official Lemmings Companion (16 levels)
Holiday Lemmings 1994 (64 levels, saved 3904)
And still working on ...
Oh No More Lemmings (46 / 100 levels, saved 2419 to date)
Lemmings 2 The Tribes (1 / 120 levels)
Lemmings 3 Chronicles (1 / 60 levels)
For a grand total of over 13349 lemmings saved :-D

};> Matt v3.3 <:{
Good for you Matt. You mean you finished all of the above games?
In Holiday Lemmings to use as an example, how many lemmings were on each of
the 64 levels? Did Xmas and save the lemmings only have 8 levels? they must
have been very long levels to only have 8 levels.

You are working on 4 lemmings games at the moment? Can you still buy
Lemmings games in NZ? I've never seen them here for years.
Mary
I remember it as well as a separate purchase during the holiday season.
Sticker price of $18.95 CDN at Radio Shack (called The Source these
days.)

I think you mean 1993, or did you buy it a year late?
Oops, I was thinking of Holiday Lemmings not Christmas Lemmings (which
I've never seen.)
Xocyll, You must be in Canada when you mention The Source (formerly
RadioShack). I'm in Toronto and have called it Radio Shack for so many
years, that I still call it Radio Shack. The Source just doesn't sound
right. Are you in Toronto and saw Holiday Lemmings in a Source store here?
The Source used to have quite a few computer games at one time, but hardly
any now at their stores near me, so I don't even look there now.
Mary
LEMMINGS!!! i was just thinking about them the other day (the game
ones, not the real-life ones LOL)
Wow.. talk about a blast from the past! I had a love/hate relationship
with those games for sure.
How about a Lemmings MMO! LOL.
Kingston. I mentioned the Source name only because I've read of
another chain called Radio Shack that had nothing to do with the one
that became the Source, and this is an international forum.
I know the price it was because I bought it at Radio Shack back in '93
and the box still has the plastic wrap (opened at one end) and price tag
on it.
Unfortunately the disk isn't actually readable after 15 years (can see
the files but can't copy most of them.)
Kingston, Ontario.? You got a little bit of snow a few days ago.
There used to be Radio Shack stores in Canada which was American owned. They
had Radio Shack in the US and Canada.A few years ago now, Circuit City in
the U.S. bought all the Radio Shack stores in Canada and change the Radio
Shack name to The Sourcecc (the cc part at the end is for Circuit City).
Radio Shack Stores in the U.S. are still there, but they no longer own any
Radio Shacks in Canada. It was in the newspaper here at the time.

Too bad. Would have been an idea to copy the original CD when it was new.
Mary
No, 1994 - the '93 release had 32 levels, then the '94 release
added another 32 levels and included the previous year.
I bought them *all* back in the day, but as you mentioned, the
floppy disks no longer work (I do not even have a floppy drive
these days), so I just downloaded them as "abandonware" to play
again :) -
http://www.abandonia.com/en/search_abandonia/lemmings
(You'll need DOSbox to play 'em these days, of course)

You expect me to remember? ;) Any typical level it ranges from 1 to
80 lemmings. You have to save a certain percentage.

Not really, they were free "demos" to advertise the other games.

I doubt it, I bought 'em ages ago and then downloaded them to play
again and keep count. :-D (See other post for link)

Thanks Matt. I downloaded Oh no more lemmings, which I think was the one I
played till it drove me crazy. I thought I had it on CD but now I can't
remember. I downloaded the holiday one as well. Now I forgot how to run
Dosbox. Remember all the trouble I had with that before? I still have Dosbox
on my hard drive, but it may not be the latest version though maybe any
version will play Lemmings. I still have a small floppy drive. I am not
ready to give it up.
Mary
On the link you gave, is that all of the lemmings games? good that there is
a site where they can now be downloaded free.
Mary
That's the one, thus the kingston.net part of my email.

That might be what I was thinking of.

CD? 2.5 inch floppy - a CD would probably still be readable (more
likely than magnetic media.)
I still have a couple of games with 2.5 inch floppies which still work (last
I tried them) but some 2.5" may not work now..
Mary
3.5" floppies? or 5.25". I've never seen 2.5" floppies.

I haven't either. I'll blame it on Xocyll. He said 2.5" floppy so I went
along with it. :P

Didn't even notice the typo. I meant 3.5 of course.
Yes, I knew that! Its KCB who is trying to be picky :)
