I have Myst 1.0.2, and when I run it under Windows 95, there is no video or
animation!! Everything else works fine, and there are no error messages.
Broderbund says this is because I have other applications that use
QuickTime, but I have uninstalled the programs I know of that uses
QuickTime, and it still doesn't work. I know that I can call Broderbund
support for the newest version, but I live in Norway and don't have a
phone, at it is very expencive to phone to the USA. Besides I don't think I
should have to pay anything extra for this game just because I have Win 95.

If anyone has a sollution to this problem, I will be eternally in
debt do them. As a tradeoff, I might give tips with Monkey Island 1 & 2,
Under a Killing Moon, Sam and Max hit the Road and The Day of the Tentacle.

I don't know if this is the same issue, but I had trouble with Quicktime
too. However, I did get some error message (can't remember it exactly
now). My problem was that I had two versions of quicktime (installed
from other games), so I had to go into my windows file and delete all
files with the quicktime extension (q-something) and reinstall. After I
did that, things worked fine.

Not sure if that will help, but it's something to consider. Also, do you
get the same problems running from DOS (or can you run Myst from Dos?
It's been awhile!)

Good luck,

Jeff

A better way to do it is to delete all the q* files from the MYST
directory.

Moin, Moin!
Perhaps you should try to install Video for Windows. But who knows?!

You can if you want, but it won't help Myst any because it uses
QuickTime for Windows and not Video for Windows.
