Hi Everyone,

Am playing GK2 - Beast Within now. Just started Day 4 and am having a
wonderful time with this game. Played it when it first came out and have to
admit, miss games such as this. I see on The Adventure Company that there
is still hope - especially with Jane Jansen so, with luck, we may have some
games to play soon.

Mostly what I was wondering - what parts GK II are you favorite. While I
enjoy the Gabe parts, have to admit, the Grace sequences are very
interesting and enjoyable. When I finished chapter 3 - I was so happy
because I knew that a Grace segment was coming up. Maybe it is the history
thing. Enjoyed learning about Ludwig, Wagner, etc.

Anyway, this was a fantastic game.

My favorite game of all times is still Sins of the Father. To be quite
honest, I dread the day that I am unable to play this game. I still keep my
P100 running just to make sure that this game never goes away!

Ok - I know this has been done to death but what were your top Adventure
Games?

1: GK - Sins of the Father
2: Star Trek - Judgment Rights
3: Indiana Jones - Fate of Atlantis
4: Star Trek - 25th Anniversary
5: GK - Beast Within
6:: Shadow of a Comet
7: All Monkey Island Games (first 2 were the best)
8: SpyCraft
9: Day of the Tentacle
10: Sam and Max
11: Titanic

I did enjoy some RPG's also:

Fallout 2
Might and Magic VI-VIII
Betrayal at Krondor

I liked the parts about being in Ludwig's Castle - hearing the tour guide,
and Wagner's museum. I thought the part about the opera was well done. I
liked playing both Gabriel and Grace. Great game. One of my top 5.

Sins of the Father was good too, and so was GK3, but I think I liked GK2 the
best.

I agree, the history aspect of the game really made it special. I too
liked the Grace sequences the most (perhaps because Gabriel's voice is
so annoying).

I've only scratched the surface of that one, though I'm going to give it
another chance one of these days. I just don't like the classic Sierra
graphical user interface (SCI1). I've been playing games using that
interface ever since they first started using it, and I'm still not
comfortable with it. I wish they'd either stuck to their old text-based
system or mimicked LucasArts' system, which was vastly superior (IMO).

You liked it better than the original Gateway?

Yes, though the original wasn't bad either. It's really the two first
chapters of the sequel that made me pick that one. They contained a lot
of intelligent puzzles that at the same time were easy enough for me to
solve them without having to search for walkthroughs. I'm a really lousy
puzzle-solver, but those puzzles weren't only manageable for me, they
made me feel proud of solving them. My favourite puzzle is the one with
the stinging/biting insects.
