I just purchases AnaCapri the Dream and installed it on Vista Home Premium
32 bit.
I played the game for about 30 minutes and then had to stop, so I saved the
game and left. I came back to play a while later and received the following
error message while trying to load the saved game:

Run-time error '53:'
File Not Found
C:\Program files\Anacapri the dream\foto.jpg

I went to their web site and noticed a patch to install which I did but no
go.
Any ideas?
I have emailed the company with the details.

Also, is there supposed to be sound when you first arrive and are try to
find the house? I did get a little music at one point but it was well into
the game and certainly not for the first 20 minutes or so. Is that correct
because I did notice in the pamphlet that it said if you have no sound in
Vista to contact them.
Thanks to those that reply.

Do not install any games to \program files\ on Vista. It is now a
protected folder so save games can't save data to that folder. I expect
that may be what your issue is. Uninstall the game and install it to
another folder outside of \program files\ folder.

Ok thanks.
I uninstalled and then reinstalled to a different folder and downloaded and
installed their patch as well as a screen shot pack and all is well now.

Thats good Eva. I played the game when it came out. I didn't think the story
was anything special, but the photography is fantastic and worth playing if
only for that. I liked the first game which was "A Quiet weekend in Capri"
better. I played Anacapri on Win 98 and have Win XP as well, but I don't
have Vista so could not offer you any advice. But seems you got help that
got you going. Hope you enjoy the game.

There is another option to re-installing in a different folder. That
is to run the program as an administrator, available in the context
menu when you right mouse click on the icon. You can set it to do
this by default in the properties, also available on the right mouse
click context menu.

I know you got it running by now but it can help with rather a lot of
programs too, not just games that save their data in the run path.
Sometimes programs do naughty things that will still not work even if
you do re-install in a different folder.

To add to that, when you see a game with a "Games For Windows" bar,
then it's certified to run in non-administrator mode. You can also
trust a GFW game to run on WinXP, Vista-32 and Vista x64.

Running games in administrator mode should really be the last resort.
A poorly tested game (especially when installed in Program Files area)
can do serious damage during install/uninstall process, when running
in such mode.
