The Dig - Eyepiece problems

Thanks to all how helped me out with the tomb. Your suggestions
were great!
Anyway, now I'm stuck trying to find the eyepiece. I've talked to
the dead alien a couple out times and her won't reveal any more
information. I've walked around the game a couple of times and I still
can't find anything different. Also, once I get the machine operating,
how do I operate it?

You need to have the reorter with you and go to the beach with the
'glowing field' then talk/show the tablet to her.

So I must to go the screen again where the island from another
dimension appeared? I'll show Maggie the tablet again and see what

Please tell me more about this engraving I have to get. The dead alien
won't say or do anything new when I talk to him. The game's really
exciting now! It's frustrating getting stuck so close to the climax of
the story! Help!

Ask the alien inventor every question about the machine. You should see a new icon show up to ask about.
Ask him all the questions related to this new item (eye-piece). He will give you one of those rods like the
ones you already have. Go to to the map room and use that combination on the device. An image will appear.
Now where have you seen that beach before? Its behind the waterfall after the spider's cave. The eyepiece
is in the rocks near the beach.

My problem is I can't seem to get the Creator to hand anything
over. Whenever I ask about the eyepiece he says "I have said enough."
For another question (I think about the machine) he replies, "I will tell
you where I have hidden to eye, if you know how to ask."

You should have another rod now, use it in the map room to
see where the eyepiece is.
