The codes are located on computer screens located in the node rooms on
levels 1 - 6. Each screen contains 1 number, so if you check each one,
you get a 6 digit code (level 1 being the highest - farthest left -
number, and level six being the lowest - farthest right - number). As far
as I know each game has a diufferent code, so you will have to go back to
each room where you blew up the computer nodes and check for yourself.

After entering the code, the level eight door should open.

I just got past this point in the game; when I went to get the computer
codes I couldn't find the computer room on level 5 (the Flight Deck). I
searched everywhere!!!! I ended up trying all ten combinations of the
missing codes, getting an unhealthy does of radiation poisoning for my
trouble!

Here is where the rooms I remember are:

Level 1: In alpha quadrant (North), to the NW.
Level 2: Right next to the elevator to level 3
Level 3: Next to the maintanence office (in one of the corners of the
square, maybe the SE one?).
Level 4: Down one of the ramps near the elevator and then?
Level 5: ???
Level 6: Past the radioactive area to the SE.

I have finished level 8 and I am about to enter level 9 (the Bridge). There
are three doors on level 8 that I couldn't open (my scanner seems to indicate
some mutants critters on the other side). Normally I wouldn't worry
about it, but they are locked with a "Military Cyberlock" which makes me
think that I missed a cyberspace terminal - which could have some essential
stuff for level 9. Is there more than 1 cyberspace terminal on level 8, and
if so, where is the second one?

If you're playing the diskette version, then you're not going to be
able to open those doors, it's a known bug. If you're playing the CD
enhanced version, then you missed a cyberspace area, as all doors will
open if you find the trip switches in cyberspace.

Nah, there's only the one cyberspace terminal. However, within the small
section of cyberspace that you can access from it, there is a very hard to
find corridor to another 'cyber room', from which you can unlock those doors.
Just go back to cyberspace, and look around all of the 'walls' - it's a bit
hard to see at first.

Silk.

BTW: thanks again to the guy who told me this last year, when I was stuck!

Also, there is a bug in the disk-based version such that those doors
will never open. If you are not playing the CD version, you cannot
get past. There is nothing vital behind those doors.

Also, there is an *excellent* FAQ for System Shock out, and you
can find it by going to http://www.gamesdomain.ac.uk/ and searching
for System Shock.

No. There's just one, and you must have missed the switches inside cyberspace.
Don't worry though, if you have picked the plasma rifle. That's what is cool in
that level.

Look at the BLACK SCREENS (very) close to the place where the nodes you blew up
were standing on.

Its been a while, but I remember a stim patch that increased reflexes.
Whatever it was, it made the game run in slow motion. Apply this BEFORE
opening (accessing) the elevator door(?).

A friend of mine actually ran around the post in the room, with the
cyborgs chasing him. He was actually able to bounce his shots off the
wall and kill them without getting hit himself.

It took me a couple of tries to figure out a way past this room.

Killing Diego is fairly straightforward (just stay on the opposite end
of a long wall as you circle the room and pop him with a couple of
well timed Magpulse rounds as he turns the corner).

If you are in one of the narrow channels when Diego dies (which you
should be if you follow the above), be ready to switch quickly to
the lightsabre as soon as he dies. The cyborgs will be lined up in
front of you when the wall opens up and you can just walk forward
swinging. One or two blows does the trick for each of them.

You may also want to turn on your shield and pop a berserk patch
(slows time).

Eric

ps. I loved this game. One of the best I've ever played.

Have you any beserk or reflex patches? Use them, especially the reflex
patch. This should give you enough time to heal yourself should you need
to do so. I find it easiest to take them out with the laser rapier.

Good luck,

Try EMP grenades as well, if you've got any.
