Well, Im ust have got something wrong. I'm stuck in AITD I only
after a few minutes of game. What can I do in the library apart
from reading books while escaping the monster ? There seems to
be a panel in the shelves, but I can't push it neither open it.
Or how can I prevent the second magical painting in the corridor
throwing me an arrow ?

I haven't played this in a loooooooong time, but if you mean the painting of
the indian, the way to stop it firing an arrow at you is to throw the
rug/carpet over it. (I can't remember if it definately is a rug/carpet or
something very similar.)
