I was thinking that this may have to do with my key repeat speed, but I've
adjusted this several times with no success.
If you have any ideas, please e-mail me at we...@aol.com
thanks!
This is a bit of a pain.. the method that works for me, is press forward
to walk, then double press it while walking to run..

I bought this game last year because it was one of the few newer games
that would run on my aging '386, and because it was cheaper than buying
a new computer. When I finally did upgrade to a Pentium, I experienced the
same problem that you are describing. I had to slow the processor down
in order to be able to run in the game. (On my machine, this meant resetting
the CMOS, rebooting, and restarting the game!) I found the game intolerable
to play at the slow speed, though, so I resorted to resetting the speed
only for those sections that I needed to run, like to escape the worm in
the tunnels, saving my game, setting the speed back to 'turbo' and
resuming play. Quite a bother, but I was able to finish the game this way.

I have exactly the same problem. I could get Edward Carnby to run only
once, and that was more or less by accident. I haven't been able to
repeat it.
The funny thing is that I could run perfectly well in the game 'Jack
in the Dark', that was also on the AITD-CD and that used the same
control-methods.

That's probably it, I also played it on a Pentium.
I forgot to mention though that I finished it with a lot of jumping
instead of running. Works equally well, although it looks a bit silly,
jumping away from that gint worm.
