I see many are having trouble with this game. I have a new Sony Vaio
with a high end Radeon graphics card and I have to turn the graphics
DOWN to ru n the game. I still get screen problems with fragmented
graphics. I had graphics problems with Riven also when it came out.

I am very frustrated the game was released with these problems.

I am currently downloading the ATI driver updates for my video card.
THe Ubisoft support site suggests that. I am still at the beginning of
the game. I put the crystal sequence into the crystal machine but never
got the message from Atrus. I admit, I did buy the walkthrough book of
the game as I find Myst games to be maddeningly hard. My computer far
exceeds all the socalled specifications for the game, so it is really
frustrating to have to turn off two of the three special effect graphic
categories to get the graphics to run.

These kind of problems are more often video card / driver related rather
than game problems. It would help to know which "high end Radeon" card you
have and what drivers you are running, so that people can have specifics to
work and make suggestions from. Don't make the mistake of thinking that,
just because the machine is new, that you must have the latest drivers
installed as well. "They" release new versions way too often nowadays.

I have a Dell-8250 P-4,500+ ram,tons of HD space,ATI 9700 pro,DX 9.0c.Running
WinXP.
Myst 4 game stuttered and coughed graphically...until I installed the latest
Win XP Catalyst drivers for my ATI card....4.6 I believe. Then it ran
fine...just fine. People often overlook the latest driver updates, and not
updating their DX properties..and tend to blame the game's programming. Ya
gotta update your PCs,folks!
This is one of the most beautiful games I have ever seen.
And hell yes the puzzles are the toughest in any Myst game. I need the Hint
guide for this baby.

I need to get DSL , as downloading things in dial up is a real pain.

I managed to solve pretty much all of Exile without help, but
Revelation sent me screaming for the clues within a couple of hours of
my arriving in the 'Spire' age.

Even having read the complete solution to the 'tuning' puzzle, I had
problems figuring out what to do - the fact that the guide gives names
to different areas of the Age doesn't help, since these names aren't
always obvious when you're in the respective areas.

And having apparently solved all the puzzles in Spire, I was left
wondering what I'd achieved!

I'm now in the Age where Achenar was imprisioned, but I'm already
annoyed with the place - so much of the game depends not only on you
exploring to find locations, but managing to find the routes to those
locations. A decent in-game map system would have helped as much as
the 'camera' system.

When I ran Revelation for the first time it did a system check and told me
that my graphics card drivers were out of date and might cause a problem. It
pointed me to the nVidia update site from where I downloaded the latest
drivers.
I discovered later that they are actually included on CD1 under
win32\support\drivers!

That's because with many recent games, people have had
to go back to earlier versions of the drivers rather
than later ones.

I am really sorry to hear, that people with their high end machines are
having graphical problems. I played the demo on my Athlon 1.3GHz,
Geforce2 GTS (32MB only!). I have to say, besides that at the end I
believe should start a shlide show to convince me to buy the game, it
ran absolutely fine and extremely fluidly. Visually it was just
stunning. The fireplace puzzle was kind of odd. The idea to "drag&drop"
the page of a book instead of just clicking it was very neat IMHO.
