I am "stuck" assembling the shreaded note from the Mansion (the woman
that commissioned Tex to recover the bird statuette).
I arranged all the pieces as closely as possible, in many different
positions but the game won't recognize the fact that it has been
completed. I tried moving the pieces around, etc, with no luck.
Is there any way to bypass the puzzle altogether, even if it means
losing points?
The note in question reads:
"... circumstances .. are progressing smoothly .. delighted to hear
that Murphy was able ... the final piece of the puzzle. ....... "
>Yeah, believe it or not, still playing this series.
Oh, I believe you. I discovered Good Old Tex only last year. Great
games.

It's a bug.

Don't know. The information in the note is non-essential.

I played it on Win98, Matrox Milennia video card, SBLive sound card. It
worked reasonably well, with a few crashes right at the beginning of the
game.

And I had to do what suggested to get it to run. It runs smoothly
though. Rarely does it crash, and it only crashed because I was
playing it off my cdrw which is a flakey cdrom drive, yet a stable
cdrw drive.
I am trying Win 98 SE, All-In-Wonder vid card, SB Awe 64 gold.
Keep getting a missing cursor, when selecting the sound card !
I will try your ideas !

Is your autoexec.bat and config.sys files setup for your sound card,
your mouse and your CD rom drive. Under a Killing Moon is really a pure
dos game. When I play it I use the shortcut, which takes you to dos or
just restart in dos mode.
I think you may need to use the keyboard arrow keys to navigate
the sound card screen. I don't remember about UAKM, but
a lot of old DOS games seem to have a setup menu that has
to be navigated by using the arrow keys and the Enter key -
even if the game itself uses a mouse.
Also, this might be one of those games where you need to go
to DOS mode to configure the sound card, even if you're going
to be playing the game in Windows.
Yes, the shortcut hint WORKED !!! I got thru the soundcard
selection and am now PLAYING UAKM AGAIN !!!! WOW !!!!
THANKS A MILLION for the help !!!
