Hi Joan, Thanks for the walkthrough you posted here. I played the demo of
Dracula Origin as far as I could then got stuck after doing a few puzzles in
cemetary. I looked for a demo walkthrough but couldn't find one so I am not
sure where the demo ended as I didn't get that far. Was the walkthrough part
you posted here for the game or for the demo? The demo was first part of
game. You played the demo didn't you? I don't know why the demo didn't
allow you to save games as the demo was pretty long for a demo so saving
game would have been much better as you had to keep going or lost
everything.. The game seems like it could be ok. I might look for it in a
store here. One thing that I didn't like was the music in the first part
(where the map was). It was the same monotonous few notes of music playing
over and over. I have played probably hundreds of games by now, but never
one that the music annoyed me so much, but once past that part, it was
better, but not a lot. Music in a game is not supposed to be intruding in
the game, but maybe other people won't notice it as much as me. I turned the
music down in game options, but even at lowest, it was louder than I wanted,
and I couldn't turn it off, and if I turned it too low, you can't hear the
voices. The actor who plays Helsing sounds a bit like Sherlock Homes in
Nemesis. I wonder if its the same guy. Graphics are very nice, same as
Nemesis. I would prefer the bigger hand as in Nemesis. The smaller hand and
steps to take are a bit small for me, so you have to get used to them. But
seems like it could be good. I go for acting, graphics and story.

Mary, I finished the game. I never finished the Demo because you
couldn't save and I had to quit and wouldn't start all over again.
I don't think you get out of the cemetery on the Demo. I always have to
use a walk thru. The walk thru is at the site below. As for background
music, I usually turn it way down anyway.

I enjoyed SH; Nemesis and Dracula equally. Amazon had the more star for
Dracula. I probably will replay both games in the near future. Right
now I'm playing Nancy Drew; The Phantom of Venice. The ND series are
really getting pretty good. At least the are adventure games. Another
good game is, Agatha Christie's; Evil under the Sun.

Yes, they should have allowed you to save in Dracula Origin demo. I always
use a walkthrough as well.

I never cared for the earlier ND games, except Treasure in the Royal Tower
which wasn't too bad.so I've never played any since. They are still being
made so a lot of people must like them. I haven't played Evil Under the Sun
either. I saw it when it first came out, and it was on sale. I haven't seen
it lately though haven't really looked much. Did you think that Helsing in
Dracula Origin sounds much the same as Sherlock Holmes in Nemesis. I liked
the way Sherlock Holmes and Watson's posh English accents sound in Nemesis,
especially Sherlock. Most actors were very good in Nemesis. I'll see if I
can find Dracula Origin around. Any games in mind to play next?

Mary, the voices to me are not the same. Sherlock's voice is a deep
rich tone and a British accent. Van Helsing actually was Dutch. He has
an accent but but not too British. Just in case you might be interested
in the human Van Helsing the following is an interesting site.

Nancy Drew's later games have gotten really interesting. There are now
18 games. The one you played was the 4th. game. They have evolved and
become more interesting game wise and graphics especially the games 13
up through 18. I really like mystery games. Some of her puzzles are
really something. I'm lucky there, my daughter does not play games
because she is on a computer at work all day. But she really enjoys
puzzles, so when I'm stuck she gets me through. Her is ND's site.

Joan, I got Dracula Origin at a local computer software store. I haven't
installed it yet as I have other things to do right now, but I will get to
it. I'll let you know how it is.
