I've been very tempted by the posts here and by the packaging to pick up
The Last Express. However, one review of the game I read mentioned that The
Last Express does not have a save game feature.

This was enough for me to decide not to pick up the game. However, the
review also mentioned that you can go back to an earlier time if you want
to replay something. But my main question is what happens when your playing
and life intrudes and you have to go do something else? If you can't save
your game, how do you tell the game where you were the next time you play
it?

The game works on a real time basis. When you stop playing because
real life intrudes ( and don't we hate that ) the game saves itself
where you stopped. The next time you start the game you will start at
the point where you left off. If you feel you wanted to try something
different that was earlier in the game you can rewind the clock to an
earlier time and try whatever it was that you wanted to try.

The game is excellent. I loved it.

No prob. You simply exit from the game and later you restart it and
start from the point where you left. If that is not enough simply
reset the time to a point where it is convenient to restart it.

The Last Express saves your progress continuously and automatically. You
may stop playing at any time and can later pick up where you have left off.
You may also turn back the hand of time in order to replay earlier sections
in a different way.

In fact, if your adventure ends prematurely because you do something wrong
or because you fail to do the right thing, the game will put you back where
it is still possible for you to change the course of events. I've found
only one exception to this rule. But even in this exception, the point
where you restart allow you to hear again an important clue that enables
you to figure out how far back to go in order to accomplish your
objectives.

In addition to automatic saving and intelligent repositioning, The Last
Express also keep track of up to six different games. Thus several people
can play on the same machine, or you can try different courses of action
and see how the story turns out.

Have you checked out the official web site www.lastexpress.com? If you like
what you see there, the game will not disappoint.
