AITD 3 Help!

Why don't I get the JUMP comand when I need it. For instance, I needed
to jump from the plank to the building across the alley. I never got the
option to JUMP in my action window. I just kept running and running and
falling and falling until once the space bar made the leap. Is this a
flaw in the program?

Now, I am in the building (after leap through window). I know I can
light the lamps. I have seen the layout on the wall. I have the ring. I
have seen the sleepwalking leading lady. The doors are locked. Again, I
want to leap across the hole in the floor, but am having no luck. Am I
wasting time on this angle? The doors appear to have glass panels, but
the diamond won't cut through them. The guns won't shoot the doors open.
If I could get the layout off the wall maybe I could do the old - paper
under the door, push key out of lock onto paper. But, again I can't get
the paper off the wall. As you can see I've given this much thought -now-
H___E___L___P !!!!!!!! Thanks In Advance
