I have noticed some recent posts here refering to Alone in the Dark 3.
I have two questions:

1) Where is it! I have looked in all of my local Computer stores and
cannot find it - has it been out long?
2) How does it comnpare to I and II? I preferred AITD I.

Many thanks in advance,

John

Hi John,

Like you, I am very interested in this game. I loved both 1 and 2.
Reading the headings, it seems like AITD III is only in the UK right
now. I think this went for AITD II as well. A European release
before a states release. From what I can glean, it seems to be a good
bit larger than the previous releases. Oh well, at least there will be
knowledgable people to answer questions when I finally get it ;)

Scott (if it is in the states let me know too!)

AITD3 was SUPPOSED to be released in Feb, but it has yet to reach US
shelves. It is available in France, though.

As far as the diff. betwees 3 and the previous AITDs, it's pretty much
the same. It does have a cool Western storyling, though. The one
difference is that it has a difficulty option, but Im not sure what the
difference between the difficulties is (I think it's just Carney's health
and enemies' strength).

Anyway, that's my 2 cents.

One other thing, if you like these games you might want to check out
Relentless from Electronic Arts. It's from the same designers who ]
did the engine for AITD I. The game is a bit more cartoony than AITD
(and strangely "cute"), but it has far more impressive graphics and
3-D technology.

(I guess I had some change left over)

In article <ZM+Y-zm...@delphi.com>, rdu...@delphi.com says...
Yes, the difficulty levels do just control your health, enemy's
health, and your power. It does not change the story or puzzles in any
way.
And the game SHOULD be out in the US very soon. I think it is
just waiting for the next shipping time so advertisers can put the game
in their catalogs. Since this is an eight-week lag time usually, that
means it should be coming real soon.
It's a great game. Some of the puzzles seemed a bit of a
stretch, and there were a few major bugs, but overall quite worth it.
