Okay, I'm getting off topic, but after his name came up my curiousity took
over. You guys oughtta check this dude out.

I read the controversy about him letting people know he was going to do a
radio interview and play music from Zork Grand Inquisitor. I bought the
music cd, and it's great!!

I just got his new album called The John Beal Trailer Project: COMING
SOON! and it's the best game oriented cd I've ever gotten, even tho' he
wrote this music for previews of coming attractions.

Some game company oughtta snap him up exclusively, 'cuz he writes action
cues better than any game I've heard, does electronic music with the best
of them, and I can't think of a style he skipped in this 2 hour double cd.

I did a search and there are incredible reviews everywhere about his work,
at places like Scorelogue, Film Tracks, Movie Music Online, etc.

Why can't we have more composers like this doing our games?

I found his website. It's at

http://www.beal-net.com/john/

But you ought to check his music out. Some of these things sound better
than the music in the games I play, so I turn the game sound off and put
his music on instead. Really gets your heart pumping on some of 'em.

Okay, back to closer related topices

Which major chains carry his CD? I couldn't find it in Best Buy.

The Activision store is www.activision.com/store.

Also, Zork Grand Inquisitor for the Mac should be out after the new year.

Yes, but what about Heavy Gear 2, Battlezone 2, Heretic 2, Sin, I-82 (or
I-76 for that matter), Mechwarrior Mercenaries, Dark Reign III, Third World,
any of the upcoming Startrek licensed games, etc....? (hey, this is a
Mac newsgroup).

:)
