If you're looking for a damn fine freebie Flash-based puzzle/adventure
then look no further than here:

http://www.abc.net.au/gameon/chasm/chasmgame.htm

Some fine animation and a great all-round puzzler. Pretty atmospheric
too.

There's a walkthrough in the forum if you get stuck (which you
probably will! :-)

This is far better than many games that you have to pay for!

Enjoy!

However, a warning re Chasm:

a) The part with the pipes (you'll know it when you get to it) is
extremely frustrating!

b) There are one or two bugs which can cause you to get stuck and have
to restart

Nevertheless, great fun.

Phil, is there any way you can save this game and come back to the same
place. Yes, I am at the water pipes and frustrating it is. :-(

Real nice game - the puzzle is not far off Myst/Riven quality, if slightly
easier. Pity it ended so soon - but this game does have a strong
"sequelable" feel to it....

It doesn't seem to have a save option. :(

Too right!

Whoever wrote this game is really talented. Great stuff.

It IS cool! (so far anyway... :-)

I'm trying it, with my monitor set to 1024x768, and it comes out kind
of small.

Is there a way to download the whole thing, or otherwise get it to
play larger?

Thanks.

Hmm, it looks like using this URL might do the trick:
http://www.abc.net.au/gameon/chasm/chasm.swf

Actually, I downloaded the ".swf" file at that URL, hoping to play it
straight off my HD... The whole game can't be only 1.5 MB can it??

Hmm, could be a coincidence, but downloading and running from my local
HD seems to have caused a problem. I played and played and ran up the
pipes at that "one" puzzle, but suddenly (at E8, I believe), I lost my
finger cursor altogether and hit a dead end.

I'm guessing that maybe, at that point, a second Flash movie was
supposed to load, but that I thwarted that by downloading the file.

It's still a cool game though! :-)
