I'm after two bits of help:

First, in QFG2, exactly what needs to be done to become a paladin? I'm
pretty sure I've done it all, except for the rewards.

I can return the first reward to Rakeesh, but I have no idea how to return
the other two rewards, since the game just tells me it doesn't know what I'm
saying when I type 'return reward' near Omar.

QFG4 is just the same old problem - the Chernovy Wizards near the Blood
Ritual.
I have a Pentium II 300 with 64 MB RAM and I use CPUkiller but I have never
been able to get around the error. Does anybody know a surefire way to do
it, no matter what computer you have?

You can't become a paladin in QFG2. At the end of the game, the end sequence
will tell you whether you have become a Paladin for the next game, QFG3. If
you have, Rakeesh will give you his sword.

Reward? I'm not sure what you mean--I'm thinking you mean his purse. Try
typing "return purse" instead. If this isn't what you're referring to, then
you'll have to tell me what you mean by "reward".

Something else I heard is that you can try to open as many applications as you
can to slow your machine down. I remembered reading something on Sierra's
message boards, if I find it then I'll post it for you.

Here it is (I just copied the complete text from the board, sorry if it's a
little too long):

Of all the program errors that player deal with throughout the QfG series, Error
52 is the most common one to face. It occurs in Quest for Glory IV: Shadows of
Darkness while in the swamp fighting the Chernovies at the Mad Monk's Tombstone.
The message that the player receives when the error occurs is "Error 52: A script
is being disposed and there is a cloned object that is still using a class in
it." This is the result of the game being played
on a fast computer. QfG4 was produced when computers were slower than the ones we
see today. The program for the game does have timers, so the script needs to be
executed at particular speeds. Playing QfG4 on a more modern computer is likely
to result in running the program script too fast for the timer and causes Error
52. The purpose of this is to provide all of you with solutions to deal with
Error 52, which are all described as follows.

Sound Settings for DOS
Version

If you have the DOS version of QfG4 installed, you can run the
INSTALL program for the game and change the MUSIC setting to IBM PC INTERNAL
SPEAKER and the SPEECH setting to NO AUDIO. Afterwards, load the game again.
Restore a saved game that you have saved before entering the swamp. From there,
go on and play the
game as normal by entering the swamp, seeking the Tomb, and fighting the
Chernovies. After that, leave the Tomb screen as quickly as you can. If you still
have problems, go ahead and try again while restoring an earlier saved game
instead.

Multiple Programs for
Windows Version

If you have the Windows version of QfG4 installed, you can
save your game just before entering the swamp or standing at the edge of the
swamp. From there, go ahead and run other Windows applications and programs that
you have. By doing so, you will make the game run slower since there are more
Windows programs going on at once. Since Error 52 is the result of the game going
too fast, this slowing down from multiple programs might do the trick.

Note: Saved games for the DOS version of QfG4 are not
compatible with the Windows version of QfG4, and vice versa. Therefore, if you
choose to play the other version of QfG4, you must start the game over. The
distinction between saved games for the DOS version and saved games for the
Windows version is important for the Error 52 solution involving
volunteers.

MoSlo, Turbo, and
CPUKiller

MoSlo, Turbo, and CPUKiller are downloadable programs that can
literally slow down your computer according to a percentage from 0% to 100% that
you set. Keep in mind that MoSlo is a DOS program while Turbo is a Windows
program. Therefore, you should use MoSlo if you have the DOS version of QfG4 and
Turbo if you have the Windows version. These programs can be helpful for
getting past Error 52 by lowering the game speed. However, if your computer is
overly fast, these programs might not help at all, so you might have to ask a
fellow board member to play the game past the swamp error.

For those of you with the DOS version installed, you can
follow these steps for MoSlo:

1. Copy the MoSlo program into the root directory of your hard
drive or any other directory you wish.
2. Shut down your computer and restart the computer in MS-DOS
mode.
3. Go to the directory that has the MoSlo program. If it's in
the root directory, for example, type CD\ and press
ENTER.
4. Type MOSLO /30 C:\WINDOWS\COMMAND.COM to slow down the DOS
program. The "/30" specifies the
computer to run at 30% the optimal speed. You can use a
different number between 0 and 100 if you wish.
5. Go to the directory where QfG4 is, which is usually
C:\SIERRA\QG4CD, so type CD\SIERRA\QG4CD or CD\
C:\SIERRA\QG4CD.
6. Run the game by typing QG4CD and pressing ENTER.
7. If you still get Error 52, you can lower the percentage in
MoSlo even more to slow the computer down further.
In addition, make sure that you restore a saved game before
you enter the swamp. This solution won't be effective if you're too close to
where Error 52 occurs.

Note: MoSlo could be run from a DOS prompt while in a Windows
environment. Simply run the MS-DOS Prompt by going to your Start menu and looking
for it in Programs. While in the MS-DOS Prompt window, follow step 4 above. After
that, minimize the MS-DOS Prompt window and run the Windows version of the game.
Keep in mind that it won't always work for every computer. If this doesn't work
for you, use Turbo instead.

For those of you with the Windows version installed, you can
follow these steps for Turbo:
1. Copy the Turbo program to what directory you want.
2. Run the program by selecting Run in the Start menu and
entering in the full path of the Turbo program. You
can also use the Browse feature to find it and select it.
3. In the Turbo window, select Turbo in the top menu bar.
4. Change the percentage to whatever number below 100 you
wish. The minimum value you can set it to is 1%.
5. Minimize the Turbo window.
6. Run the Windows version of QfG4.
7. If you still get Error 52, you can lower the percentage in
Turbo even more to slow the computer down further.
In addition, make sure that you restore a saved game before
you enter the swamp. This solution won't be effective if you're too close to
where Error 52 occurs.

If you have the Quest for Glory Collection Series, not the
previous QfG Anthology, the CD does have some saved games provided for QfG4 that
you can use for the purpose of getting past Error 52. The directory for saved
games for the DOS version is D:\SAVES\QG4DOSCD\2, and the directory for saved
games for the Windows version is D:\SAVES\QG4WINCD\2, where the
letter D designates the letter of your CD-ROM drive.

If none of that helps, the Sierra message board for Quest for Glory havs a list
of "Error 52" volunteers who can provide saved games past that point or who are
willing to play the game for you past the error, then email you back a copy of
the saved game. The information for contacting these people and what they will
want from you is on the Sierra message boards.

Hope this helps.
