Howdy,

I am looking for a good adventure game to play with my brother while he
is home over Christmas vacation.

I want a good game that doesn't take too long to finish. A game that
takes about a week of fairly intense playing to finish would be good.

I would like the game to cost less than $30, but this is not critical.

Thanks in advance,

-Mike Burnett

My own personal favorites are:
DISCWORLD
7TH GUEST
Any of the LEISURE SUIT LARRY series

I'm ambivilant about:
UNDER A KILLING MOON (more of an interactive movie than an adventure)
PHANTASMAGORIA (same thing)
MYST (ending is disappointing)

Hope this helps.

Go for the OEM cd's of Myst ($35), The 7th Guest ($20), or the
LucasArts Value-Pak of Day of the Tentacle and Sam & Max Hit
The Road for $13 each. The last two are a steal! Or get the
LucasArts Classic Archive with Indiana Jones and the Fate of
Atlantis together with DOTT and Sam & Max. I'd also recommend
Monkey Island 1 (hilarious) and Alone in the Dark (short but
memorable). I haven't an OEM AitD, though. Enjoy.

For a good adventure game: try Buried in Time.

Hm...It was a long time ago...Before Monkey Islands, Indiana Joneses and Day
of the Tentacle...And it wasn't LucasArt...But it was the adventure game I
probably had most fun with...Try FUTURE WARS...

Well, if you liked Discworld, you'd probably like any LucasArts game.
They're very good, the puzzles are quite logical and some of the old ones you
can get for a budget price. I'd advise you to buy a compilation of them - it
works out much cheaper and you get three fantastic games for the price of one.
The games included are Day of the Tentacle, Indiana Jones and the Fate of
Atlantis and Sam 'n' Max Hit the Road. They're all very good. Indiana is
probably the hardest and Dott the easiest - Dott took me 2 weeks - casual
playing.
Hope this helps you,
Kristel.

You could try "THE DAME WAS LOADED" which was released in Australia a
couple of days ago. It has a huge number of puzzles and interaction, as
well as having fantastic looking full screen video, even on a 486DX33.

A non-playable demo is available from GamesDomain in the UK, and in
Australia from FTP.NEXT.COM.AU in the /incoming directory.
