Neverhood - how to move the teddy on a crane?

I'm stuck in Neverhood trying to figure out the correct combination of 3
figures to move the teddy within reach of the giant cyclops robot. The
symbols come from a previous puzzle that I solved, but after trying to
enter the total number of each symbol (6 every time) that didn't work,
and random attempts haven't either.
Does anyone know what this puzzle wants?

My Dearest Lynda...
You looking at panel that has three pictures with numbered block next to
each and poor teddy bear hanging from pole. You confused. You want teddy. He
remind you of stuffed Pooh-bear. You flummoxed. You perplexed. You throw
away your concentration puzzle notes. You silly Klaymen go to trash,
collect notes. How many times the squibble-pling appear in puzzle? You tell
numbered block.

You need to change the number on the block to equal the number of that item
that was pictured in the red room at the memory puzzle, and then press the
yellow button. The little bear on the arm should swing to the other side.
