Thanks for any help!
It's unlikely to be a video card problem with a QuickTime game.
You say QuickTime is loaded, but did you use the version that came
with the game? The user comments at Amazon.com say the game won't work
with QuickTime versions later than version 3.

it says the animated characters won't be seen if you have the wrong
QuickTime or your display settings are wrong. Have you tried using
different desktop settings? Have you tried running the game in compatibility
mode?
I don't know what compatibility mode is.
thank you again!

You'd need to uninstall the newer QuickTime before installing the older
one. And to avoid errors, you'd have to uninstall anything to do with the
newer one, despite any warnings you get that say some software may not
work if you uninstall the newer one. Otherwise you get remnants of the new
QuickTime conflicting with parts of the older one when you try to run your
game. At least that's been my experience.

If you have Windows XP, you right-click on the the game shortcut on your
desktop, choose Properties from the menu, then the Compatibility tab.
There should be a drop-down menu box there where you can select different
versions of Windows. Use Win 95 or 98/ME for older Windows games.
Hopefully this tricks the game into playing the way it would on a computer
with Win 95 or 98.
If there is no desktop shortcut, you have to browse to the game folder
using "My Computer" or "Windows Explorer" and right-click the game
executable to get to the compatibility tab.

"Inferno," who is moderator there, has a lot more experience than I do
getting older games to run on newer computers. She has a procedure for
having multiple QuickTime versions on the same computer which I don't
fully understand. I'm lazy and my favored method for getting older games
to work is to play them on an older computer that doesn't require any
special tweaking. Good luck with your game.
