phantasmagoria key help (spoilers)

Hi, all. I'm on ch 3 of Phantasmagoria. I was able to poke the key
out with the nail, but didn't slide the newspaper under first.
Unfortunately, I then saved the game. I tried to start at chapter 3
and just re-do that particular chapter, but the whole game froze up on
me a couple of times. Do I have to start completely over b/c I saved
it at a stupid place? Or is there another way to get the key out
besides with the newspaper?

Use the fireplace poker under the door to retreive the key.

I wasted several hours trying to do exactly that; I think you have to
use the poker *before* you zoom in close to the bottom crack of the door.
I made the mistake of zooming in close, so I could see the key, then
trying to poker and I don't think it will work then....... argh!!

Denise, I'm feeling pretty foolish... how do you find Don at the
end of Chapter 2? I have the drain cleaner, poker, cards, newspaper and
hammer... I think that's it. I've been everywhere I can go and still...
any suggestions? TIA...

After getting draino, I went to the darkroom door, he opened the
door and took the draino. After he took the draino, the chapter ended.
