I had little difficulty in solving the first two puzzles of the games.
However, I seem to be missing the general point of the cash register
puzzle. Any hints would be appreciated (besides those offered by the
game). Thanks

Colin

Read the rules 'carefully' and make sure you understand what you are
trying to do. Spent about 15 minutes until I realized I missed a
critical rule and then it took about a minute to solve. Hope that
helps.

SPOILER ALERT:

Divide the whole register into two halves, left and right. When you're
done, the dollar amounts on both halves should be the same, and the same
keys should be pressed on both halves; i.e. if you pressed the bottom
left key on the left half, the bottom left key must also be pressed on the
right half.

I must say that this one confused the heck out of me; I had to use the
gamepad for hints, and it was still rather confusing. At first I thought
you had to make the 160 00 into 00 162; but since simply pressing every
key does that, I knew that was silly of me. Then I thought I had to make
it read 111 11, since that's what shows up when you initially look at the
register. Nope. Then I decided to split the total into 81 81, still
nothing. I don't think I ever would have thought of the keys being
relevent to the puzzle; I was too focused on the amounts.

You want both sides of the register to be the same number...

If that doesn't help, this should work...

Push down the X's...

X X X X X o o o
X X X o o o o o

5 5 1 25 5 < Push these where the x's are..
5 25 10 <

GuilE!
