Hi, I finally finished Monkey Island, thanks to the help I received
here.

I have one question though, about Herman Toothrot. He kept saying
something about,

"I have pressing business. Hee Hee Hee."

Is this some kind of pun, or was he just loony?

When you play MI 2, you will encounter Herman again and learn that he is
not at all looney. He is one of the finest philosophers of all time.
Guybrush and I experienced great personal growth during our meeting with him.

A truly great man.

See ya,

I figured it was just a joke. You know, a guy has been stranded on
an island for years, there's not much to do there. He has NOTHING to
do, but since he's so annoying the game designers had him leave
by saying he has REALLY REALLY IMPORTANT STUFF TO DO. I figured he was
also insinuating that he wanted Guybrush to save him since he had
nothing to do.

I figure he's just crazy. BTW, did you figure out how to get both
endings?

You mean there's more than 1 ending? This is Monkey Island I, right?

Yes, there are 2 endings(Maybe more, but I doubt it) Try sinking the
ship with the catapult and you will get a slightly different ending.

Yes, you can get two endings. If you sink the boat with the "piece of art"
then there is one ending, and if you don't then there is another. The
puzzles don't change at all, but some of the cut scenes are different.
E-mail me if you want to know what the differences are.
