SHANNARA - how to prevent Shella from dying?

Is there any way to save Shella from dying. I hate adventures without
a happy ending. Remember Indiana Jones and the fate of Atlantis?
There were two endings in the game, one where the girl dies at the end and
another ending where you could save here.
Is there anything like that possible in Shannara?
I tried not to kill Shella and not to free her soul, but the result only was
that I had to fight her at the end before Brona.
Come on ... I can't believe there is no happy ending ...
(I didn't read the books, did she die there, too?)

Sorry, there is no other way.
Good thing too. I don't see why games/films should always have
uniformly happy endings. Life just doesen't work that way.
