I don't get it....
I went through the whole game without CDs.
After installation I didn't need the CDs at all!
They didn't use the same copy protection system wordlwide.
US/Canada seems to have gotten the worst one.
I have one I downloaded a couple of weeks ago.
I haven't used it. I don't even have the game yet.
It's called flt-bs3.rar and is a little over 700K in size.
I don't know if it's for the US version or not.
You can email me through Gameboomers if you want it.

It's the crack that's 700K, not the game disk.
This method works with Broken Sword 3 and Black Mirror as examples. It
is inconvenient but does work. It works because Starforce seems to
insist that if an ATAPI drive is present, the CD must be on it. SCSI
drives are checked only if no ATAPI drives are present and emulated
drives are SCSI.
Does it work with computers with AMD K6 and K6-2 processors?
I don't know, but don't see why it should not. My system has an AMD
XP2500+ CPU which is at least from the same manufacturer. In any case I
doubt the CPU or motherboard matters, given the method used by Starforce.
I have to say it is a moot point if the only thing the game looks for is
an authentic CDROM. There are very few legitimate reasons that require a
no-CD installation when the game itself runs fully from the hard drive.
The reason I asked is that Starforce is incompatible with AMD K6
and K6-2 processors and will not work with ANY CD drive if the
computer has one of those processors. I was wondering if the
incompatibility could be circumvented by the method you
described, or whether there is really no hope for anyone
with one of those processors. I don't have a K6 or K6-2, so
can't test it myself.
