Has anyone been able to open the door to the elevator in the Toxic
Caves?

I got the generator started, but no key card or lock pick works on
it. The walk through on www.gamespot.com said you could use the
keycard from the corpses near the crashed VertiBird, but it didn't
work for me.

Any Thoughts? BTW, an email response would be much appreciated.

Cheers,
Kevin

At the risk of being flamed for cross-posting, can someone please tell
me where Torr phyisically is and ditto for SanFran.

Yes. In the original US version, you need an Electronic Lockpick

(not Electronic Mk II), and in the patched US version, the Electronic
and Electronic Mk II work. San Francisco is the best (only?) place to
pick up one of these lockpicks.

I'm not sure who started that rumor that the keycard worked, but I
haven't heard of it working for anyone. It most certainly didn't for
me in the first beta patch (the patch which introduced that keycard on
the corpse), and while I haven't tried this in the final patch, I
believe that others that did play with that didn't get it working
either. That keycard is flat-out useless in my experience.

San Fran is way south and west along the coast. Or map wise way left and
down. What or who is Torr? We've been to San Fran but the name Torr
doesn't ring a bell.

[You do know you can edit which newsgroups a post goes to in a
followup, right? I've trimmed the headers above for followups; read
documentation for your newsreader for doing similar things.]

When you first enter Klamath in Fallout 2, Torr is standing near
the bulletin board. Accepting his 'guard Brahmins' quest moves him to
the map with his brahmins, and I haven't found a way to return to that
map when the quest is over.

San Francisco is a city on the world map. Either use a real-world
atlas to figure out where it is in regards to Klamath, or just head to
the SW corner of the world and if you survive, you'll probably run
into SF.

You have to get an electric lockpick first
(Best a Mark II which you can find at the enclave stronghold on the
coast (sorry forgot the name)
but any other will work also - its just harder.)
And of corse your lockpick ability should be fine.
You will get a laser pistol there and some other stuff.
By the time I had an electronic lockpick an good enough skill to get in
it was prety useless to me :-(
