second is there any insolvable puzzle or dead end if choose the wrong
kids, do choose different kids had any different in the game at all?
also how to slow down the text speed ?
at last how to exit the game ? i only can quite the game by shut down
the whole dos windows.
i know this game is very old but since it is presequel for Days of
tentacle which i love so i give it a try hope it is good as other
lucasart adv. games.

Not sure, I only ever played it on the Commodore 64 :)

Yes, You have to choose Bernard and Michael or you are screwed AFAIK.

Its a great game
The Atari-version got mouse support, but I am not sure about the PC version,
but I believe the same...

I would not be too sure about this, because the game got totally different
solutions depending of the characters you take with you. But I also playes it
with Bernard and Michael. BTW, be careful, in this adventure, YOU CAN DIE!
Yes, although it is from LucasArts, you can die.

Try F5 for options and Alt+x or Alt+q for exit. This should work

Eh, just one silly question: Why do you not just play the MM-version
delivered with DOTT? It's exactly the same and everything is supported. But
just a guess, anyway! ;-)

Try Ctrl + M ou Shift + M

i don't know since the mouse don't work right away in to the game.

LA adv game can die ? better be careful then and save often then.

F5 is only for save or load , but no text speed :-(

the MM inside my DOTT is the old version , the version i am playing now have
better graphic. and DOTT don't work very well on my new computer anyway.
is Shift+M , thz. what a odd command key.

do you mean the game is unwinable if choose other kids or just harder ?
Stuart
There is an "enhanced" version of the game that does -- afaik it was
only released on the CD with DOTT. The enhanced version supports the
mouse, while the original version does not.
Chances are if you found a copy of the game, it's the keyboard-only
version.
> second is there any insolvable puzzle or dead end if choose the wrong

Sure, and also you can kill off one of the kids and still win... it's
possible.
Some more stuff, like how to kill off the kids, how many different
endings there are, at

> also how to slow down the text speed ?
Why? I never found it a problem. I'm not sure you can, but if you can,
try using . and , (yes, period and comma), as those are the keys used in
later games.

CTRL-C, just like every other LA/LF game.
Enjoy the game!

I can guess two reasons:
1) Because the version delivered with DOTT is the original version,
which means that the graphics are much poorer than the enhaced one.
2) The version delivered with DOTT allows you to use only one save game.

If you have the enhanced version, you have to press SHIFT+M... or
CTRL+M...or ALT+M, I don't quite remember.

This game is full of dead ends.

I don't think you can, unless you slow down your computer with a
relevant utility.

ALT+X.

Unwinable.

Untrue. All combinations are possible, although some are easier (exactly
which are easier is debateable)
Also, you can die some places, you can get stuck (you'll probably notice
tgis, and there are some red herrings.
PS If you ask for help with the game, it's advisable to list who you're
using.

damn.

The MM i played wasn't saveable. I playe through a bit of the mansion, but
you couldn't save! wahts the fun in playing an adventure game where you can
die, but not save, so the slightest mistake forces to to start over?
Well
What's the difference between the enhanced version and the regular
version? Are the graphics radically different, or just slightly?

Yeah, that and a poster of Zak McKracken in the arcade room, that does
not exist in the original version! It makes sense, because MM was their
first game.
Then Law should try the CD version, which has the game with the better graphics
in it.
> 2) The version delivered with DOTT allows you to use only one save game.
Wow! I didn't know this, cause I played it all the way through then and didn't
even save. Ok, I guess that's really a point!
--
And now let's not start the discussion whether MM or Zak was the first one!
MM was first and in the very first release the Zak poster was a STAR WARS
poster! So, there you go!

That's what I said, wasn't it?

I hope you mean that you used a walkthrough... either that, or you're
the best adventure gamer in the world!
Well, actually I played it half on my Atari but then lost interest. So, I played the
beginning the second time in DOTT and had also a little help (by my brother) to
finish it!
Yeah, I know, just wanted to stop a senseless thread before it really started.
This topic is discussed enough IMHO. So there you go. You are right, I wanted to
prevent, that's all.
